National Non-Toxic Printmaking Invitational


Naomi Hart

Naomi Hart was born and raised in the North Woods of Minnesota. She received her BA in Fine Arts there, from Northwestern College, studied Printmaking in Italy, and will receive her MFA in Contemporary Printmaking and Book Arts this spring from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Naomi has taught throughout her graduate studies in Printmaking and Foundations, and is currently an adjunct in the Printing Technologies Dept. at RIT where she teaches Hand Bookbinding and Book Arts. She has been a master printer for visiting artists, and a guest lecturer in a variety of settings. She will be teaching several workshops this summer encompassing introductory and advanced non-toxic techniques in printmaking.

Naomi has shown her work throughout the US and Italy, and will be showing this summer in New York as part of an emerging artist series. A few of her recent exhibitions have been Unbidden Journey, Bevier Gallery in Rochester, NY, Instructor Exhibition, Frank Stone Gallery in Minneapolis, MN, Text and Texture, High Falls Gallery, Rochester, NY, Passages of Change, 1570 Gallery, Rochester, NY, and Frogman’s Portfolio Exhibition, The Coffee Shop Gallery, Vermillion, SD.

Naomi has been involved in collaborative book arts publications, and recently was awarded a Sumasil Foundation Grant for the purchase of studio equipment.
