National Non-Toxic Printmaking Invitational

Construction Intaglio-Type

Overlapping pieces of ImagOn Ultra are laminated to a plate to build up areas topographically. The pieces can be exposed together or individually with an aquatint screen, image transparency, other stencil, or a combination of these exposures. The plate can be tray developed after all pieces are applied or pieces can be hand-developed. The protective mylar coating on ImagOn Ultra must be removed on all overlapped pieces for development.

Variations:
If the plate is not exposed to light, the resultant print will have ink only at the edges of pieces.

(See Non-Toxic Intaglio Type for overall description of this process)
