Layered Intaglio-Type

ImagOn Ultra is laminated to a metal plate; a second plate has ImagOn Ultra taped to it. Both plates are exposed. After exposure the second ImagOn Ultra film is laminated on top of the first film and then developed. The image on the bottom layer only shows where exposed. Further development by hand permits eroding areas of the top layer to show the bottom image.

Variations:
Both ImagOn Ultra films may be exposed to the same image or a different image. One of the films could be exposed only to an aquatint screen to make a black layer. Wrinkled Intaglio-Type is a variation in which the top layer is wrinkled and/or torn before development, which exposes areas of the bottom layer. Pieced Layered Intaglio-Type is produced by overlapping small pieces of ImagOn Ultra, which are exposed and developed prior to laminating and exposing subsequent layers of pieces.
