Multiple-Plate Reduction Monotype
A monotype technique in which a flat plate, such as glass or plexi,
is rolled solid sequentially with colors such as yellow, red, and
then blue. Areas of ink are removed for each color and the plate
is printed at each color, yielding yellow, red, blue, orange, green,
purple, and a dark neutral in the final print. Further rollings
may create shadows or play down an area. Since the same sheet of
paper is printed throughout, there is only one unique print made.
